Formulations Scientist

JOB OBJECTIVES

 Researching, developing and optimizing product formulations that meet Swiss Natural’s, and NHPD’s requirements for safety, efficacy and quality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development of robust, stable and effective formulations (mostly solid oral) to be used for in-house manufacturing/3rd party manufacturing and regulatory submission.
  • Conduct experimental testing and evaluation of raw materials, dry blends, and bulk product.
  • Coordinate formulation and analytical resources.
  • Participate in the set-up and operation of pilot scale equipment and instrumentation for the completion of small production runs of domestic and international R&D products
  • Lead Technology Transfer and Scale-up operations.
  • Research and compile pre-formulation data on the medicinal ingredients and excipients used in product formulation.
  • Write product development reports.
  • Lead investigations into product failure

 

KNOWLEDGE & REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent degree in a science discipline).
  • Must have minimum of 3 years of formulations/product development experience, preferably in pharmaceutical/neutraceutical development or drug delivery.
  • Proficient PC skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge in SAP software an asset.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate priorities.

Manufacturing Supervisor

JOB OBJECTIVES

This position will be responsible for providing day to day supervision and hands on leadership to the manufacturing team, including coaching and performance management. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage to ensure that all production targets and objectives are achieved as per plan.
  • Supervise employees and process to achieve safe, timely and accurate production of quality products.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors and be proactive in root cause analysis and correction of operating issues and employee activities.
  • Ensure compliance and emphasis on safety, Standard Operating Procedures, GMP, and proper handling of bulk and components.
  • Effectively communicate and provide performance feedback to employees in order to achieve consistent results against targets in quality, cost effectiveness, loss reduction, safety, minimal downtime, and schedule achievement.
  • Monitor employee’s attendance. Address attendance issues in a timely manner.
  • Regularly promote and support the development of people and methods to improve the workplace environment and results.
  • Ensure proper information is provided to the managers, shipping, scheduling, HR and QA departments.
  • Prepare daily production reports.
  • Ensure that all In-Process-Checks (IPC) are completed as per SOPs and directions for all pieces of equipment associated with the Packaging Line.
  • Ensure that Packaging Documentation is filled in as per departmental practice, GMP and current SOP’s as required.
  • Ensure that all cleaning functions are completed as per SOP’s and following GMP standards.

KNOWLEDGE & REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • 3 to 5 years experience in a Natural Health Product/pharmaceutical operations environment, including 2 years managing staff
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent education
  • Strong knowledge in the operation of process equipment and instrumentation for,  tumble mixers, encapsulators, tablet presses and coating machines

Position: Marketing Coordinator, 12 month contract

Marketing Coordinator, 12 month contract

**This role will be covering a maternity leave and the contract will begin mid November 2010. 

JOB OBJECTIVES

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Product Manager with planning, executing and analyzing of various marketing initiatives. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop promotional activities for large retailers and health food: Bonus and Banded Pack programs and quarterly deals.  Execute plan supported by written communication to the field. 
  • Assist manager with program execution and lead execution when appropriate.
  • Liaise with agency on day to day program details.
  • Assist with product launches including master text, pricing analysis, preparing launch kits and store visits.
  • Develop marketing collateral including brochures, sell sheets, direct mail, inserts, POP, etc.  Lead creative and manage development process.
  • Develop Nielsen Charts and analyze data.  Communicate findings.  
  • Maintain brand standards and ensure consistency of brand image across all programs and initiatives.
  • Develop presentations and deliver to sales team when necessary.
 

KNOWLEDGE & REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Post secondary education in the field of marketing or equivalent experience in marketing
  •  3-5 years of marketing experience within a consumer package goods environment
  • Working knowledge of SAP (asset)

Packaging Associate

JOB OBJECTIVES

This position will be responsible for operation of high speed pharmaceutical packaging line and quality checks. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Production

-          Perform daily safety check of equipment.

-          Set up machine in accordance to work order/product size/pill count/labels/cottoner, etc.

-          Ensure quality checks are conducted in accordance with SOP’s

-          Troubleshoot minor operating issues.

-          Reconcile work orders

Workplace Safety

-          Consistently work in a safe manner. 

KNOWLEDGE & REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

-          2 to 3 years experience in a packaging setting.

-          Ability to speak, read and write fluent English

-          Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently if needed.

-          Strong work ethic—punctual and at work every day

-          Work hours are 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Thursday (4 day work week, 40 hours per week)

Position: Sales Operations Analyst

JOB OBJECTIVES

This position will be responsible for: Posting sales reports; Gathering and recording daily sales; Creating monthly sales reports and past sales comparisons; Support in managing McKesson Wholesaler account; Manage GS1/ECCNet etc.; this position will be the administrative support within the Sales department with this organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Report Generation and Distribution:

-          Use SAP and other available sources for Daily, Weekly and Monthly to track business performance.

-          Conducting sales analysis as needed and report findings.

-          Generating regular and ad-hoc reports; distribute to customers when necessary.

-          Manipulating raw data from various sources and integrating into one source.

-          Work with available Point-Of-Sale data (i.e. Wal-Mart Retail Link, Loblaws Toolbox, Zellers BIS).

-          Creating presentations as required.

-          Create, execute and maintain regular Retail Sales Price audits

-          Preparation of Monthly Broker Commission Reports

-          Work with AC Nielsen and Category Data.

Data Catalogues:

-          Acting as a data catalogue expert (GS1/ECC Net)

-          Review product specifications issued by Marketing

-          Ensuring data integrity and coordinating troubleshooting.

Sales Logistics:

-          Communicate sales logistics and procedural changes specific to Sales Operations (i.e. Creation and distribution of launch information, product specification changes)

-          Maintaining and updating sales team territory information.

-          Work closely with Sales Director, Key Account Managers and Regional Sales Managers fulfilling information requests to identify business opportunities.

-          Support in managing McKesson Wholesaler Account with all aspects of account management i.e. maintain pricing, list new products, coordination with other Key Accounts pulling merchandise from Wholesaler, manage return authorization requests etc.

KNOWLEDGE & REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

-          Diploma in business administration or equivalent work experience.

-          2-3 years experience in Consumer packaged goods industry experience, preferably in sales, coordination, report generation and analysis.

-          Knowledge in AC Nielsen and category data analysis is considered an asset.

-          Must be expert level in computer skills in MS Office Excel, Access with a demonstrated ability in logic functions, pivot tables, and complex formulas (skill testing will be applied at time of interview).

-          Strong computer skills in MS Office Word, Powerpoint, Outlook

-          Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills.

-          Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-          High sense of urgency.
